Customer Bulletin: Urgent Notice of service interruption, CP Rail

Mar 18, 2022

Update: March 22

We are pleased to let you know that the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) – Train and Engine Negotiating Committee has agreed to enter into binding arbitration with Canadian Pacific (CP), ending the TCRC strike action that began over the weekend.

CP will immediately begin to execute a safe and structured start-up of its train operations in Canada. Effective immediately, CP has cancelled embargoes currently in place.

This agreement will allow for CP’s 3,000 locomotive engineers, conductors, train and yard workers in Canada to return to work at noon local time on March 22, 2022. CP will work diligently to safely restore normal service to the network as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Hello Valued MVS customers,

We have been given notice from our main rail partner, CP Rail, of an imminent work interruption that will affect our services to you.

On March 16 2022, CP issued a 72-hour notice to the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) of its plan to lock-out employees at 00:01 a.m. ET on Sunday, March 20, 2022. However, we want you to know we remain focused on providing you the best possible service given the circumstances we are now facing.  If your shipment is scheduled to travel on a CP railcar or is already on a train, expect delays.
